The Albanian government has taken action on fuel prices after gathering companies in this sector in a meeting two days ago to discuss the situation created by the war in the Middle East.
The meeting was held behind closed doors between several ministries and sector representatives, to discuss the impact that the war could have on the Albanian market.
So far, there has been no decision on whether to intervene, or on the formula for market intervention.
In a similar situation, in 2022, the government established the Transparency Board that set prices and company profits, which, despite being sent to the Constitutional Court by the opposition, still remained in force as "legal".
