Why doesn't the Government take action then, since the increase in oil

What is happening in the market is pure abuse by oil traders, according to the government, as about 90% of the oil that comes to Albania does not pass through the Strait of Hormuz, so there is no reason for the price to increase to this extent.

This fact was announced by Enea Karakaçi, Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, who told the media after the government meeting that the closure of the Strait of Hormuz does not pose a problem for Albanian suppliers, as 90 percent of oil coming to our country comes through other sea routes.

However, Karakaçi did not say how the government planned to solve this problem, as the Transparency Board could be established very quickly, but it could also not meet.

"We are looking at it in dynamics. The Strait of Hormuz is not a problem for Albanian supplier groups, because 90 percent comes from other sea routes. The Transparency Board is there, it could be established very soon, but we have not yet decided on such a thing," he said.

Asked about the DP's draft law on reducing the turnover tax, the minister stated that

"The circulation tax to be reduced by 45 lekë means that it should be 45 lekë. The circulation tax is not 45 lekë. We have followed a different model. The circulation tax is in all EU countries, but it is divided, some segment it at the carbonation point, some segment it in vehicle tax payments.

"We have judged that collecting the circulation tax at the gas station is the best means, since those who use more liters of fuel pay more tax. We have not yet made a decision on the Transparency Board. This board is there and can be created with a DCM," said Karakaçi.
