After the Government meeting this Thursday, the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Enea Karakaçi, in a communication with the media, said that the Strait of Hormuz does not pose a problem for the supply of oil to Albanian groups, as over 90% of the supply comes from other sea routes.
Karakaçi said that the increase in oil prices in the country is a mechanism that can increase at any moment and that it is being monitored, but currently, as he emphasized, a decision has not been made to establish the Transparency Board.
" There are two elements that are evaluated in periods of crisis: the first is the lack of product on the market. As we have communicated before, the Strait of Hormuz does not pose a supply problem for Albanian groups, since the majority, over 90%, of the supply of petroleum comes from other sea routes.
Regarding the price increase, the mechanism exists and can be activated immediately. With a decision of the Council of Ministers, we have assessed that, through communications with interest groups and hydrocarbon associations, they will understand the importance of the situation, so that the immediate establishment of the Transparency Board will not be necessary.
"The board is an instrument that can be activated very quickly, but so far no such decision has been made ," Karakaçi said.
