Socialist MP Erion Braçe recently gave an interview to Report TV, where he responded to the Minister of Economy, Delina Ibrahimaj, who stated that there is no cartel that determines oil prices in the country.

During the interview, Braçe stated that it is evident that hydrocarbon market companies operate as a cartel, according to him, the state pretends not to understand this situation.

He also emphasized that companies set the same prices within a day and at the same time.

Journalist:  You have often said that there is a cartel in that market.

Erion Braçe:  Yes, it is evident.

Journalist:  The Ministry of Economy says it hasn't been verified, there's no evidence.

Braçe: How could I not? When the price changes within a day, within the same hour, at all points and it's the same price, what is it like? What kind of behavior is this? Coordinated behavior.

But when does coordinated behavior happen? When does it happen? When the market is concentrated and when the market is concentrated, yes, of course. A cartel situation is why they pretend they don't understand.

If the entire price of hydrocarbons, oil, gas and gasoline in the territory of the Republic of Albania is determined by a company that we call a broker. What logic is there?
