The Tax Administration and the Customs Administration have launched controls in the hydrocarbon market, within the framework of the joint operational plan for monitoring this sector.

Through an official announcement to the media, it is announced that this operation was carried out in the city of Elbasan at two gas stations.

During this inspection, serious tax violations were identified in these entities, including: failure to issue invoices, undeclared employees, goods without tax invoices, failure to display price lists, failure to update business data.

"The Tax Administration and the Customs Administration have launched controls in the hydrocarbon market, in implementation of the joint operational plan for monitoring this sector. The first action took place in Elbasan, in two fuel entities, where serious violations of the legislation in force were identified.

"The controls will continue throughout the country, with the aim of fighting informality, monitoring prices and guaranteeing fair competition in the market," the announcement says.
The Task Force established by the Ministry of Finance on March 11 will control the hydrocarbon market to prevent abuses with oil prices.

The focus of this Customs and Taxation task force will be the control of both wholesale and retail points, not only for prices but also for the quantities of hydrocarbons traded by wholesale and retail points.

The controls will extend to the entire territory of the country until June 30, 2026, based on risk analysis and information available from both institutions.
