According to the website "EFFIS", which monitors and manages forest fires in Europe, it is noted that in Albania, from the beginning of the year to the end of September, about 46 thousand hectares of land were burned in the republic of the country, which came as a result of 164 fires fire according to what this site reports. In the last 12 years, this is the largest area burned.

On the other hand, according to data from the Institute of Statistics, an average of 50 cubic meters of timber is located on a surface of 1 Ha. In other words, during the January-September period of the current year, 2.3 million cubic meters of wood were burned.

With a market price that varies around 35 euros per cubic meter, the total cost caused as a result of timber loss in the forests reaches around 80 million euros. In addition to high temperatures, intentional arson has also been the main "protagonist" in causing this cost.

Even from the data from the Ministry of the Interior, it shows that in 2024 there was an increase in the number of problematic cases that were followed by firefighters and law enforcement, where only during the month of August, 20 more cases were registered than in August of last year.
