Suppliers and traders will have new obligations in terms of labeling products for energy class. The Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy has issued for public consultation the draft law, which aims to make available information on energy consumption and other resources, products with an impact on energy for the end consumer.

According to the accompanying report, the label should include standard product information about energy efficiency, energy consumption and other resources during use, thus enabling customers to choose more efficient products in order to reduce their consumption. of energy.

The law also provides details on the content that ethics or its positioning should have, specifying that it should have design characteristics as uniform as possible, through groups of products and in any case, be clearly legible and visible.

The label format will be based on classification, using the letters "A" to "G", where the classification steps correspond to energy and cost savings from the end user's point of view. Meanwhile, the document also provides for the imposition of fines, in case of violation of obligations by suppliers or traders.

Depending on the violation found, fines can be as much as ten times to fifty times the unit price of the product offered to the end user.
