Blendi Fevziu: The girls who shot the martyr's mother hit us all today
The girls who shot the martyr's mother hit us all today

This old woman has been the common pain of all Albanians today. Her sad cry that was drowned out by the screams of some nursing home workers, in front of a phone recording that almost macabre scene, would not have happened if life had not reserved another sad surprise for her.

This mother had a son. She would be with him today, and surely, she would have been satisfied and happy with her grandchildren in his house. But the boy could not make him happy. At the most important and delicate moment of his country, Taulant Nuraj decided to join UCCK. He decided to protect with his life not only the elderly, but also all citizens of Kosovo who were threatened by Serbian violence.

He was martyred near Gjakova in 1999. Leaving behind a single photo, with a smile and with the conviction that the country for which he was being sacrificed would deserve his sacrifice. Since 1999, this mother has been burning with pain for the son she lost, but also with pride that he was a martyr for this country.

But the place to which she sacrificed her son has reserved for her today a scene that will freeze you. The lonely woman is beaten in a nursing home by two girls, both in uniform, while a third films the scene, probably to be proudly displayed in some of the banal settings of this category that have nothing in common with the human being. . Or why not to make it viral on TikTok. Today those two girls have not only hit an old man, which in itself is the greatest sin in this world. Today those two girls have hit on the dream of thousands of martyrs of Kosovo to build a better society, without the violence with which the Serbs threatened the Albanians. Those girls have hit on the faith of an entire nation that has had respect for the elderly at the core of its philosophy. Today they have not hit a mother without her son.
