Artur Zheji... that I knew!

The loss of Artur Zheji shocked many of us, certainly not all of us, because it could not have shocked, at least, those who Zheji himself, in his analyses, where he "beat" the word like that gray-haired potter who caresses and rubs the clay vessel until it takes the perfect shape, had as subject and object of criticism and disappointment.

This was even the most vital part of his media analysis, because those who ''comb their tails'' and are ''friends'' with everyone are a different breed.

I have known Artur Zheji for many years, we were connected by the media, of course.

He was one of the few, if not the only one, who often invited me to his panels many years ago, with the well-known show ''360 Degrees'', which seems like he even named it just for himself.

This market is so big that it has ''kinds and kinds'', but Artur was characterized by modesty bordering on grandeur, but to enter this anteroom, you had to first open the thin curtain of coldness bordering on apparent arrogance, which he held as a shield, forced by harsh reality... but after you received this ''permission'', he would open the door for you, even if you were young and far from his caliber at the time.

But he knew that these were more valuable than the "elders" of old who only tickled the analysis... because the "status-quo" was being disrupted in every sense.

Artur Zheji treated you with confidentiality with his dignified simplicity, even though he was a big name in the media, because he completely lacked the conditions to be like "everyone else".

I remember the publicity spaces, when everyone would be distracted by conversations like this, just waiting for the time to go live, but Artur wasn't bothered by that.

He also used this space to demand more from everyone in service of the purpose for which we were sitting on those panels.

These were not my first meetings with Artur.

I remember even earlier when I interviewed him in his office at MAPO.

I was still considered in my early days, and I was impressed, at the same time I admired the man in front of me because he was not the usual ''cut'', as we say, he was different.

His approach had all the colors, a learned man, a master of words, modern, strange, youthful, perhaps atypical for his age and time.

In fact, this was the Western approach, which everyone tried to represent with propaganda, but at most they only bought the costume from those parts, not the mind... .

After his passing, reactions flooded in, as usually happens when people leave this world, but how many of those who rushed to weave a few short sentences without getting tired, did not even behave the same as they do now.

However, one thing is certain, that like those who wrote two words from their troubles and like those who brought them out of their souls, Albania lost a journalist, a publicist... an artist, because Artur Zheji could not have been any different, as he came from a family of this caliber and his contribution was family-wide and extended over the years.

Reactions to Zheji's loss came from all sides.

For example, the leaders of Kosovo expressed their gratitude to Artur Zheji for his contribution to the national issue of Kosovo, beyond simple or robotic journalism that has no connection to major causes, as is commonly practiced in these regions today and in the past...

And since these lines are personal, let's leave it here.

Personally, I considered Artur Zheji part of a group that can be counted on the fingers of one hand, of analysts in this country, and I followed him with curiosity, regardless of where he spoke from or who he was interviewed by.

Zheji's analysis sometimes seemed so rich and profound that it stood out greatly from his "colleagues," and perhaps this easily differentiated him from the beginning.

Even those who didn't like it probably couldn't understand it, because Zheji's metaphor drowned out any response that might come from the other side of the studio.

Artur Zheji left prematurely, and the irony of fate is that about a year ago, he seems to have written to death himself, not knowing that he would take him a year later.

"The Great Black Lady" he would call her... he is surely very angry with her today... and if there is peace that does not exist on Earth where it is sought and found, and there is a Pen, he will probably write to the first one, precisely this "Lady".

Artur Zheji passed away at the most vital peak of his career and creativity... his pen was still very sharp to write and analyze the many problems this country has... he passed away very close to ''September'', where he would resume his media season, and where he had a lot to say, because here in our sinful Earth, ''September'' is very noisy and this September will certainly be poorer in this regard...

Many may sit in Zheji's chair, but his friends of mind will continue to be few...!
