For 12 days, 34-year-old Eglant Koçi has been missing and there is still no trace of him. Based on the evidence collected, Tirana Police, a few days after the young man's disappearance, declared that Koçi is suspected of being physically eliminated by his friend, 41-year-old Armand Shakaj.
The suspected perpetrator of this serious incident, Armand Shakaj, continues to be wanted, while not only the Tirana Police, but also other police structures are engaged in his arrest. The search has spread throughout the country, where intensive investigative work is being carried out with special methods, with the aim of arresting the 41-year-old.
His arrest would also pave the way for the discovery of the body of Eglant Koç, who is suspected of being hidden by Shakaj on the outskirts of Tirana. Although police have conducted numerous searches in villages, towns, mountainous terrain and forested areas, the 34-year-old's body has still not been found.
According to A2's police sources, Armand Shakaj continues to hide within the country's territory and has almost completely changed his appearance to avoid identification. The sources indicate that he has cut his hair, removed his beard and uses various forms of disguise during his movements to avoid being detected by the police.
Investigators also suspect that he maintains contact with close people who could help him hide. He has changed not only his phone number, but also his mobile phone, in order to avoid being located by the police through the device's IMEI.
The 41-year-old is suspected of engaging in illegal activities in the field of call centers and possessing SIM cards with foreign numbers, which he is suspected of using to avoid police tracking.
