Gëzim Dodoli, 59 years old, is the Albanian who was killed on Thursday evening in Italy by his neighbor. The Italian media have also made public the name of the author of the serious event. He is Sandro Mugnai, 53 years old.
A blind violence whose origin remains unclear. Gëzim Dodoli was shot dead with a rifle by Sandro Mugnai after the Albanian tried to destroy his house with an excavator.
The serious incident took place in San Poli, in Arezzo, a quiet area where everyone knows each other.
The parish priest of the area, Don Natale Gabrielli, tells the Italian media that the two families used to come and go.
"I went to eat with both families several times. The children, now adults, served at mass with me and stayed in the parish. Then the Dodoli family moved to Milan, but for some time, Gezimi had returned alone. I don't know what happened, but I know that maybe Sandro wanted to protect his family. The roof was falling because of the excavator's blows, everyone would have been crushed to death," he says.
53-year-old Sandro Mugnai was arrested by the authorities and is currently in Arezzo prison awaiting questioning. The investigators are also said to be trying to reconstruct the last hours of the victim, to understand what led the 59-year-old Albanian to undertake the act that cost him his life.
