The court of Lezha has sentenced Aleksandër Përdoda to life imprisonment, accused as one of the perpetrators of the murder of the rhapsodist Kol Murrani and his friend Prengë Simoni.
The court has acquitted 35-year-old Agron Lushi, who was accused of being an accomplice in this event. Lushi spent 14 months and 14 days in prison, while he was charged with murder in qualifying circumstances committed in collaboration.
Rhapsody Kol Murrani and Preng Simoni were killed at noon on April 29, 2020 in the village of Lalm i Vjetër in Lezha.
Accused of their murder are two brothers Alexander and Edmond Përdoda. The latter was arrested in a special operation by the police on February 11 this year.
The conflict allegedly started over a piece of land. The two victims had gone to see their lands, but there they found that narcotic cannabis plants had been cultivated. From this moment it is thought that they were ambushed by the Përdoda brothers and executed with a Kalashnikov after they had discovered the cannabis plots.
