The Prosecutor's Office of Tirana has terminated the investigation into the suspicion of the "Deliberate Murder" of Leart Kurti by the employees of police station No. 3 in Tirana.

The decision of the prosecutors comes a few days after the investigators got acquainted with the act of medical-legal expertise, where the final answer of the doctors was that the 32-year-old Kurti had died as a result of poisoning from an overdose of cocaine.

Based on this situation, the investigative group that is dealing with this issue has already extinguished any doubt that the death of the young man did not come as a result of possible violence by the police, but from an overdose.

Despite the determination of the cause of Kurti's death, "Ora News" learns that investigations into this matter continue for two other charges, such as "Committing arbitrary actions" and "Failure to provide assistance".

For these two criminal offenses, the employees of police station no. 3 in Tirana and the doctors on duty near the trauma hospital in the capital are currently being investigated. Due to the contradictions in their testimony, the police and doctors were interrogated a second time.

Again, both sides have taken different positions, where the doctors have shown that the patient Leart Kurti, arrived at the premises of the Trauma hospital, without signs of life. On the other hand, the employees of the police station have shown that the young man was transported to the hospital with signs of life. According to them, along the way they measured Leart Kurti's pulse from time to time, realizing that he was able to live.

These two different attitudes have led to the deepening of the investigations, from the side of the prosecutor's office of Tirana, which has already focused on the full inspection of the security cameras belonging to the police station and the Trauma hospital.

This investigative procedure is being carried out, as the prosecutors are confused and unclear in terms of clarifying the criminal responsibility of doctors or police officers. Kurt's death happened on October 19 of this year, as a police patrol stopped him in pursuit in the "Don Bosco" area. At the time of detention, Kurti had health problems, and was immediately escorted to police station no. 3.

But while staying in these premises, he continued to be in a bad condition and as his health deteriorated, the police transported him to the Trauma hospital, where he died. After the examination in the morgue, it turned out that in Kurti's stomach the doctors found and seized a cracked bag containing cocaine.
