The Park of Amantia is one of the most interesting archaeological sites, which still has a lot to discover.
In a post on social networks, the Minister of Culture, Elva Margariti, has brought to attention the works being carried out in Amantia, more precisely in the facility known as the "Jew's Grave".
The photos included in the post also show the result of the excavations so far, inside the park.
The excavations are expected to bring new data on the history of this settlement.
The director of DRTK Vlorë, Orgest Feimi, has expressed confidence that the excavations in Amantia will bring a new touristic-cultural attraction within the territory of Amantin.
"Inherited through generations by word of mouth, with the name "Jew's Tomb", curiosity legitimizes the full discovery of this structure, which unifies the importance and history of what we inherited from our ancestors", writes the director of DRTK Vlorë.
The ruins of the ancient city of Amantia are a cultural monument, in the county of Vlora. Amantia was founded at the end of the 5th century BC. It is located on a hill in the Labëria area and is fortified with walls.
In the 3rd century BC, the city became economically stronger and issued its first coins. There are still traces of the temple of Aphrodite, the theater and the stadium.
