A big fire in the hills of Tragjas, forests and ponds are burning

Since noon today, around 15:00, a large-scale fire has engulfed the hills of the village of Tragjas.

The flames, helped by the wind, have spread rapidly towards the mountain, burning bushes, orchards, but also forest areas of this area.

More than 25 officers of the Vlora fire brigade intervened immediately, making it possible to evacuate residents and especially livestock, as the area is known for the high number of stalls. Fortunately, no burned cattle are reported.

The fire continues to be active and, aided by the wind, is covering an increasingly large area of the mountain of the village of Tragjas. The situation remains difficult due to the rugged terrain and difficulties to intervene from the ground.
