The National Food Authority is currently out of operation as all insecters will undergo several tests.

The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Anila Denaj, has announced that she has ordered the suspension of all unplanned and unapproved inspections by the National Agency for Agriculture and Rural Development.

Also, according to Denaj, a Special Evaluation Commission has been established, which will have 5 members, who will deal with the re-evaluation of inspectors.

"This order also has a basis in the establishment of a special commission with 5 members. I thank the support of UBT, which will have three members in this commission. The commission will evaluate the AKU inspectors in writing. New applicants will be the focus of this institution that will bring a new approach and ethics," said Denaj, among other things.

This move was announced by Prime Minister Edi Rama, after a meeting with farmers in Cërrik, where he stated that the AKU 'destroys work' more than it 'fixes' it.

The head of government stated that a Special Commission should be established to analyze all human resources of the National Food Authority and the process of merging those various inspectorates that has been established by law.
