Former Crime Chief Erjon Dani was declared wanted by SPAK, surrenders to Himara police

The former Chief of Criminal Police, and also Deputy Chief of Police Station No. 3 in Tirana, Erjon Dani, has surrendered to the Himara police, after being informed by the media that there was an arrest warrant against him signed by SPAK.

According to SPAK, Erjon Dani abused his position during his time in the ranks of the State Police after he made data from TIMS available to one of the persons under investigation.

SPAK today struck a criminal group operating in drug trafficking from Latin America to EU countries.

8 people ended up in handcuffs, including Erjon Dani, who surrendered, while 5 others are wanted.

SPAK has seized several different cars such as a Maserati, Porsche, Audi RS6, Audi E TRON, Volkswagen Golf 8, a Honda XADV motorcycle, over 38 thousand euros, 200 dollars, eight mobile phones (among them some encrypted), a sports gun, 40 7.62 mm caliber cartridges, cocaine and various documents.

Meanwhile, one of the arrested was caught red-handed with a weapon after searches of the premises.

SPAK says it is continuing investigations to identify other persons suspected of being involved in these illegal criminal activities.
