This morning, 51-year-old Albanian Vladimir Beqiraj appeared before the court, who killed his wife, Lonora Serina, with a knife.

While entering the Court handcuffed and accompanied by the Police, Beqiraj apologized to his children, without making any other comments. Neighboring media reports that he has shown remorse for the act committed, before the Prosecutor in Zakynthos.

Vladimir Beqiraj is accused of attempted murder and murder.

The event happened on Friday evening, and in the preliminary testimony, Beqiraj said that he committed the crime out of jealousy.

"I recently found out that he was cheating on me. That's why I had become violent towards her. The night after the incident, I went down to the mountain, in Bohali. A few moments before the crime, at 9:30 p.m., the 41-year-old woman went and reported the violence by Beqiraj to the police station. She stayed at the police station until 22:30 and when she was asked where her ex-husband was, she said that she did not know. When she returned to the apartment, she found the 51-year-old man again, who killed her.

A neighbor testified that Beqiraj pulled her by the hair and shouted that he was going to kill her. "He hit her and pulled her hair saying he was going to kill her"

She ran away to seek help and when she returned she found Lonora injured in a pool of blood. She had stab wounds to her throat and chest, was immediately taken to the hospital, but did not survive.

The 41-year-old woman is suspected of being systematically raped by her husband. Neighboring media report that she had denounced the violence by Vladimir Beqiraj in June. At that time, he was arrested for domestic violence and violence against employees for resisting arrest, but was later released.

Their 20-year-old son also reacted to the shocking event.

"The fault is ours because we had not taken the necessary measures. This was our biggest mistake. My mom and I talked about it. She was a perfect mother, I feel sorry for my brothers and we need to find a solution as soon as possible", said the boy.
