They were caught with drugs and about 44 thousand euros in cash in the apartment during an operation on July 30, 2022 in the village of Kreshpan , the Prosecutor's Office of Fier also sent two defendants, father and son , to court for money laundering .

The news is confirmed by the prosecution institution, which clarified that in the context of the property investigation launched against the suspects last year ( apart from the one for drugs ), financial and accounting verifications have identified other assets, which are not justified, specifically more than 8, 8 million ALL and 6 cars.

The prosecution informs that it completed the investigations and sent citizens Arshi Hoxhaj, 49 years old and Eltjon Hoxhaj, 26 years old, family members, to court for the criminal offense of " cleaning the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity ", provided for in Article 287 of the Criminal Code . The other son of the family, who survived the first operation, is also accused of drugs.

The criminal proceedings against them, with the number 776 of 2023, started after the police operation and evidence found in physical controls, for criminal offenses in the field of narcotics. During the raid, 40,800 Euros and 3,000 USD were seized, as well as 8 kilograms of drugs (cannabis), weapons and cultivated narcotic plants.

"The defendants, in cooperation with each other, have concealed or covered up the true nature and source of ownership or rights in relation to the property, knowing that this property is the product of a criminal offense or criminal activity", it is clarified in notification.

And according to the procedures carried out in the following year, mainly economic and legal towards them and other persons related to them (family members), other unjustified assets have been discovered.

And "after carrying out their accounting verifications and expertise, it was found that they do not have legal sources for the creation of wealth in their possession".

The prosecutor's office also confirms that " their property and that of their families turns out to be 6 vehicles and the amount of cash in the total value of 8,778,866 ALL, which are not justified by legal sources of income ".
