Arrested by SPAK, KLP suspends prosecutor Xhevahir Lita from office
Operation "Metamorphosis"

The High Prosecution Council, called to an urgent meeting by the Chairman of the Council, Balla, made a decision on the suspension from office of the Kukes prosecutor, Xhevahir Lita.

The latter was arrested within the SPAK "Metamorfoza" operation, in which 4 criminal incidents were revealed.

The special prosecutors have doubts that the former head of the Kukes Prosecutor's Office, Xhevahir Lita, was found in "abuse of duty" and "corruption".

The basis of these investigations are a series of encrypted communications from the Sky app and Encrochat provided by the French authorities.

Until the election of a new leader, this Prosecutor's Office will be headed by the Deputy Director, Enkeleda Hoxha.

Xhevahir Lita held the position of Prosecutor of Kukës since 2021. Earlier he held the position of prosecutor in the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana.
