The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, and MP Xhelal Mziu commented on the serious incident that occurred today, where a quantity of TNT was placed in the apartment of the Democratic MP.

Berisha described the act as an action carried out by " government gangs ", accusing the police of being politicized and incapable of solving the incident.

For his part, MP Mziu considered the event as revenge, emphasizing that there was a political background behind it.

Sali Berisha:  The act was committed by government gangs. First of all, with an apology for this forced postponement of the conference due to, as you understand, the unprecedented traffic that exists on the streets of Tirana. And Mr. Mziu, who left on time to come to this conference, took three times as long. Today I am here with MP Xhelal Mziu to denounce an act of state terrorism against the MP and his family. MP Xhelal Mziu's apartment, while he was inside the apartment, was attacked with TNT by state gangs. The gangs are now the total property of the state. The amount of explosives was considerable and has also caused damage to the surrounding area. This act comes after yesterday's unconstitutional stance of the head of the criminal organization towards the parliament and the opposition. This act has only one goal, to silence the opposition. For all of this, I guarantee Edi Rama that he will bear maximum responsibility. The police are deeply politicized and we do not trust that they can solve the case and catch the perpetrator or perpetrators. I cannot say that every segment of the police is infiltrated by crime, but accepting that the police will solve political crimes is an illusion.

Xhelal Mziu:  I have no conflicts. The act is entirely political. I consider it a political revenge and nothing else. I find no other argument than a political background or to make us their soldiers and not let us be in opposition against this criminal government. The police were there, they determined that it was a TNT measure, they did the necessary expertise, we hope that the police will clarify the incident. I am not very confident in this regard, but we hope that the police will be at the right height in this case.
