The Guardia di Finanza of Rimini has handcuffed three Albanians after catching them with 4 kg of cocaine worth around 150,000 euros.
According to Italian media reports, it all started around 14:00 on Monday, when a civilian patrol of Fiamme Gialle came across a Smart car, owned by a person known to the police.
It is about a 31-year-old Albanian citizen, known for crimes such as obtaining and keeping clandestine weapons and possessing false documents.
Guardia civilians then began to follow the small car until the driver, later identified as a 25-year-old Albanian resident of Cesena, stopped near a house and the financiers stopped him to ask for his documents.
The young man managed to leave on foot, taking refuge in an apartment in the palace and only after a long persistence, the soldiers of Fiamme Gialle managed to open the entrance doors.
Inside the house, in addition to the 25-year-old, two other compatriots were found: a fellow of the fugitive's age and a 31-year-old.
The driver tried to throw the drugs, packed in two plastic bags, out of the window.
But the police found bags containing 27 packages of cocaine with a total weight of 3.7 kilograms, as well as a knife, 2 precision scales and material for packaging doses.
From the inspection of the apartment, 5,700 euros in cash belonging to three Albanians were discovered. A further check was carried out on the three Albanians and 3.6 grams of cocaine and 1 marijuana were found in the possession of the 31-year-old.
The three Albanians were heard in "Caseti" prison. In the coming days they will appear before the investigating judge to confirm the arrest.
