The General Director of the State Police, Gladis Nano, has reacted to the accident recorded today at noon in Potam, where the head of the Community Policing Section in the Elbasan Police, Arjan Tase, hit a minor girl to death with a speedboat.

Through an announcement to the media, the Police informs that Nano has suspended the Director of the Local Directorate for Border and Migration Vlora, Chief Commissioner Shpëtim Hasanaliaj, from duty, until the circumstances of the event are fully clarified.

Also, Nano has ordered the Directorate of Professional Standards, the Department for Borders and Migration and the Department for Public Order and Security, to set up a special group, to verify the implementation of the orders recently given by him, to increase security measures in coastal areas.

Reaction of the General Director of the State Police, regarding the incident that happened at noon today, in Potam, Himare, where a 7-year-old child died, as a result of being hit by a boat driven by a police officer.

The General Director of the State Police, Gladis Nano, expresses his sincere condolences to the Avdia family, for the loss of the life of their 7-year-old daughter, who was hit by a boat. For the State Police, the regret and responsibility for this event is twofold, apart from at the institutional level, as well as at the human level, as parents, as family members and as fellow citizens of this country.

Meanwhile, Director Nano has dismissed from the ranks of the State Police the police officer Commissioner Arjan Tase, with the duty of Head of the Community Policing Section at the Elbasan Police Station, who was arrested immediately after the incident. The police officer was on vacation in Himarë and while driving a boat, it is suspected that he lost control over the steering of the vehicle and as a result the boat hit the 7-year-old daughter of the Avdia family, who died due to her injuries. at the scene.
