Migrant trafficking, the 22-year-old Albanian is arrested at Gatwick Airport

A young Albanian man has been arrested at London's Gatwick Airport as part of a national investigation into human trafficking.

The 22-year-old was detained by officers of the National Anti-Crime Agency, which is investigating the trafficking of Albanians in the United Kingdom through the English Channel and in trucks.

The person, who is Albanian, was arrested on Thursday morning.

Branch Commander Sara-Jayne Moore said: "The NCA will leave no stone unturned, at every step of the human smuggling route, in our work to tackle organised crime offenders of immigration."

His identity is not disclosed.
