The Court of Tirana has set the security measure "prison arrest" for the 8 arrested in the framework of the investigations for the sale and purchase of weapons. The trial panel has accepted the request of the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for the assignment of security measures.

In the cell will stay: Emirel Tusha, Leandro Haxhiaj, Fabricio Berberi, Rikardo Hajdaraj, Visar Murati, Kevin Farruku, Geraldo Muraj and Adriano Shehu.

None of the suspects spoke to the court. Meanwhile, the defense has raised allegations that it has acted in violation of the law in terms of incentivized purchases, as according to them the police have pushed individuals into illegal actions.

The lawyers have asked for concrete evidence and facts for each of the suspects, regarding the actions they are alleged to have committed. Also, they have asked for the weapons expertise to prove whether or not they are functional.

The defense has asked the court to consider the arrest illegal and take into account the fact that the suspects have no previous criminal records. On the other hand, the prosecution has made available to the court the expert reports carried out on the weapons seized earlier during the detention of Altin Pajaziti and Kadri Prushi, where one of the weapons is out of order.

During the operation carried out by the law enforcement structures, 14 firearms, 12 pistols, one of them with a silencer, and 2 machine guns, as well as 2077 cannabis seeds, combs and combat ammunition, 3 vehicles and 8 mobile phones were seized.

The group of arms trafficking from Kosovo to Albania was hit after a 5-month investigation by the Anti-Trafficking of Tirana. The coded operation "Puzzle" led to the arrest of a total of 10 members of the arms trafficking group. 8 young people were arrested on May 30, while 2 others were arrested as part of this investigation on April 1.
