In the early hours of Sunday, by the services of the Saranda Border Police Commissariat in cooperation with the services of FRONTEX, at the green border near pyramid 74, in the place called Katajeto, on the border with Greece, a group of 7 foreigners of Ethiopian origin who intended to cross the green border in the direction of Greece was caught red-handed.

This group was accompanied by their compatriot Finan Kibrom, 31 years old also with Ethiopian citizenship but resident in the United Kingdom. The 31-year-old Ethiopian was with this group with the intention of illegally crossing them into Greek territory for profit.

For this, 31-year-old Finan Kibrom was arrested, while the other group will be escorted to go to their country. From the first investigations, it is suspected that the 31-year-old had the second case of this action for the purpose of profit. He came by bus from Greece to our country from Kakavija.

Here he would take the group with whom he had previously connected and if he crossed the green border he would wait for a taxi to transport them within Greek territory. The arrest of 31-year-old Finan Kibrom with Ethiopian citizenship and resident in the United Kingdom was made for the criminal offense "Providing assistance for illegal crossing of the state border", provided for by Article 298 of the Criminal Code.
