The Tirana Court has imposed the security measure " prison arrest " on eight people arrested two days ago, suspected of involvement in an arms trafficking network.

At the request of the Prosecutor's Office , security measures were imposed on the following citizens: Emirel Tusha, Leandro Haxhiaj, Fabricio Berberi, Rikardo Hajdaraj, Visar Murati, Kevin Farruku, Geraldo Muraj and Adriano Shehu .

During the court hearing, none of the suspects gave explanations, while the defense argued that the arrests were carried out in violation of the law. According to them, the police provoked illegal actions.

Defense attorneys also requested expert reports on the functionality of the seized weapons and the declaration of the arrests as illegal.

The prosecution, on the other hand, presented to the court the expert reports conducted on the weapons seized earlier in the same investigation, when Altin Pajaziti and Kadri Prushi were arrested. One of the weapons seized in that case was found to be non-functional.

The operation conducted by law enforcement agencies led to the seizure of a significant amount of weapons and ammunition: 14 firearms (including 12 pistols, one of them with a silencer, and 2 automatics), 2,077 cannabis seeds, combs and combat ammunition, 3 vehicles and 8 mobile phones.

Investigations continue under the direction of the Tirana Prosecutor's Office, to fully uncover this criminal activity.
