SPAK requested tender documents for electronic voting identification devices,

The CEC has submitted to SPAK the complete documents that the Special Prosecutor's Office requested two days ago, regarding tenders for electronic identification devices as well as electronic voting and counting.

SPAK has started investigations regarding two tenders awarded by the CEC for biometric identification devices throughout the country as well as for voting and electronic voter counting (pilot project that was implemented in unit 10 in Tirana) in the 2021 parliamentary elections.

Both tenders were won without competition by the company "Smartmatic International Holding BV", whose winning value is very close to the limit fund.

Specifically, SPAK has requested from the CEC the documents of the tender held on December 23, 2020 for "Information technology systems/devices for the electronic identification of voters and their post-election verification". Also for a second tender awarded in 2021 (March) for 'Information technology systems/equipment for voting and vote counting!'.
