Albanian killed by tenant in Belgium

A serious incident shook the Itterbeek neighborhood in Anderlecht, Belgium, on Sunday evening. The media there report that a 61-year-old Albanian man identified by the initials NM, owner of the well-known local café "Maison Haute", was shot dead by his tenant around 20:30 on Sunday.

According to witnesses, at least four shots were heard in the café. The authorities confirm that the suspected perpetrator was arrested by the police, while the victim, of Albanian origin, was taken to the hospital, but could not survive the injuries received.

The incident has caused great shock in the community. Michèle, a resident of the neighborhood and a close friend of the Albanian, says with tears in her eyes: "Only yesterday at noon we drank a glass together. He was a wonderful man, always ready to help. I had warned him one day that this tenant would get in trouble... And here we are today."

The lady adds that the Albanian had just returned from vacation and had no previous conflict in the neighborhood. The local police have isolated the area for investigations and have ruled out the connection of the event with drug trafficking for the time being. Everything is suspected to have started after a personal conflict between the Albanian and his tenant.
