Albanian escapes from prison hospital in Greece

A major police operation is underway in Kostur, after the escape of a prisoner from the surgical clinic of the General Hospital.

It is about a 28-year-old man, of Albanian origin, who was being treated under observation and accompanied by guards, but who managed to escape under unclear circumstances.

According to the information, the Prosecutor's Office has been informed about the incident and an order is expected to publish the details and photo of the 28-year-old fugitive.

Police have launched a search to find him, while the circumstances in which the escape took place are being investigated. The incident has caused great concern in the local community.

Police and military patrols along the border have also been reinforced. I do not yet know if the Albanian border authorities have been notified.
