A 59-year-old Albanian, identified as Fatos Cenaj, is fighting between life and death after being shot on the morning of Sunday, June 8, in the municipality of Fontaniva, Italy.

According to Italian media , the incident occurred while the injured person was riding a bicycle.

Initially, several drivers passing by thought it was an accident and immediately notified emergency services.

Medical teams immediately arrived at the scene and determined that it was a much more serious situation: the 59-year-old had a gunshot wound to the face.

He was stabilized on site and then rushed to the hospital, where he is in serious condition and in intensive care.

After determining that it was not an accidental fall, but a genuine assassination attempt, police forces arrived at the scene.

The area was blocked off to collect any possible evidence that could help identify the perpetrator and solve the incident.

Investigators are pursuing several leads, including the possibility that the victim was shot from a moving vehicle.

Another line of investigation is that a person may have tried a gun from his home and accidentally shot the innocent bystander.

Security camera footage in the area was also seized, while several witnesses were questioned for hours at the carabinieri station.

The event has shocked the local community, while authorities are doing everything they can to identify the perpetrator and uncover the motives behind this serious attack.
