The Embassy of the United States of America in Albania has reacted regarding the protest called this afternoon by the opposition at 17:00 around the Assembly, during the plenary session.

It urges US citizens to avoid gatherings, as the situation can change quickly and unpredictably, and has established contacts for assistance in the event of an incident.

Location: Boulevard Dëshmorët e Kombit - Opposite the Assembly

Roads blocked: George W Street. Bush, Jean D'Arc Boulevard and possible parts of Elbasan street

Date/Time: Monday, February 13, 2023, starting at 5:00 p.m.

Event: A protest is planned to take place in front of the Parliament building. This protest has the potential to spill over into the surrounding streets causing traffic jams, diversions and road closures. US citizens are advised to avoid large gatherings. While many major events take place peacefully, situations can change quickly and unpredictably.
