A prisoner for murder died in the hospital of Durrës, where he was urgently sent by the authorities of the IEVP Durres. Roland Hasani, 44 years old, sentenced to 14 years of imprisonment, hanged himself inside the cell where he was serving his sentence. He has been in difficult psychological conditions and according to sources from IEVP, he also suffered from mental health problems.

Immediately after the incident was discovered, Hasan was taken to the Durrës hospital with few signs of life, but he did not make it.

The special structure for the investigation of the events within the penal institutions is conducting the investigations in order to fully clarify the event and bring out the concrete responsibilities for the event.
