Vincent Kompany's health situation has caused major concern at Bayern Munich. The 40-year-old coach was rushed to hospital on Friday after collapsing while attending a training session with the Bavarian club's second team.

Kompany had initially attended the first-team training session before staying to watch the second-team training session. After around 20 minutes, he suddenly collapsed, requiring medical attention. A helicopter was called to transport him to a hospital in Munich.

The news immediately caused concern within the club, especially as the Belgian coach had already had a difficult few days. He had been affected by a viral infection, which had forced him to miss several training sessions and the press conference before the match against Arsenal.

Despite the problems, Kompany was back on the bench for the Champions League match, which ended in a 2-2 draw against the London team. However, after the latest incident, Bayern do not want to take any risks with their coach's health.

Sporting director Max Eberl gave reassuring news about the Belgian's condition, confirming that he is stable but will remain in hospital for further examinations. The exact cause of the incident is yet to be determined.

"He will have all the time he needs. We will not talk about days, but weeks," was Eberl's message, making it clear that the club will not set a date for his return before having a full picture of his health condition.

In Kompany's absence, assistant Aaron Danks will take charge of the team. He will be on the bench for the Bundesliga clash with Freiburg, while the technical staff will continue to coordinate the team's preparations and activities.

For Bayern, the next challenge is not only to maintain the positive results, but also to wait for the coach's full recovery. The Bavarian leaders have made it clear that Kompany's health comes before any sporting objectives and that his return will only take place when medical conditions allow.
