The Tirana police have arrested a father and son, as they are accused of selling contraband. The distributor is also under investigation.

It is known that father and son brought contraband goods and sold them in stores in Tirana, while various suspected smuggled goods were seized as material evidence.

" Finalized by the Section for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes, in cooperation with the Sector of the Special Operational Force at the DVP Tirana, the coded police operation "Next". They transported smuggled goods to Albania, and stored them, in the entity under their administration, 2 citizens (father and son) were arrested. An employee of this entity is being prosecuted in a free state. Various suspected smuggled goods are seized.

The specialists of the Section for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes at the DVP Tirana, in cooperation with the Sector of the Special Operational Force under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction Tirana, following the work for the prevention, identification and attack of criminal activity in the field of goods smuggling, after a genuine investigative work, have organized and finalized the coded police operation "Next".

As a result of this operation, the citizens of Sh. A., 58 years old, and EA, 29 years old, (father and son), both residents of Tirana. Citizen AA, 24 years old, was also processed in a free state. During the control exercised in the subject under administration by citizens Sh. A., and EA, on "Xhanfize Keko" street, Police services found various suspected smuggled goods.

From the verifications carried out, it was found that these goods were transported to Albania, by the two arrested persons, who stored them in this subject, and then the goods were distributed by the AA citizen, in several points of sale, in different areas of Tirana.

Various suspected smuggled goods were seized as material evidence. The operation to strike this illegality follows. The materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Tirana, for further procedural actions," Tirana Police announced.
