Meteor shower in December!

Meteor shower in the month of lights.

The shooting stars, an opportunity to express wishes, will culminate on the night of December 14, where about 100 can be viewed per hour.

This year it will be possible to see and distinguish them more clearly because the sky coincides with the new Moon, the deep darkness of these nights makes them visible until the dawn hours.

Shooting stars, as a phenomenon, are verified when dust grains hit the Earth's atmosphere, burning up at an altitude of more than 80 km. The faster and bigger a particle is, the brighter it will be.

This phenomenon is verified as the Earth revolves around the Sun, constantly passing through the dust and detritus left behind by asteroids and comets.

Just as it traverses these areas, it comes into contact with higher amounts of cosmic dust, which, entering the Earth's atmosphere, create the meteor shower, bright phenomena that have always created suggestion in all cultures, past and present.

December's meteors are called Geminids, and the Earth is in a position closer to the Sun than Mercury, and further away from Mars.
