The next hearing is being held at the GJKKO for the Gerdec massacre file, where 26 people lost their lives. Former Defense Minister Fatmir Mediu is present and is objecting to the expert report presented by the experts.

Meanwhile, Mediu has requested from the GJKKO to also obtain the testimonies of military and political figures of the time given in the US, saying that 6 American congressmen have sent a letter to the Albanian Ministry of Justice.

"Six American congressmen have sent a letter to the Albanian Ministry of Justice, requesting that the testimonies of military and political figures of the time, given in the US voluntarily with (affidavits) which are declarations under oath and have the value of evidence in the American justice system, be taken into account in the "Gerdeci" process," said Mediu after the GJKKO rejected their summons as witnesses.

Meanwhile, SPAK prosecutor Klodian Braho has requested that "the defendant focus on the object of the judicial review at the current stage."

The media outlet is accused of abuse of power and violation of procedures in establishing the dismantling factory.

The process began in April 2023 and is still in the objections phase.

The reopening of the case came after the request of the Durda family, victims of the explosion.
