They endangered the lives of pedestrians and other drivers and caused traffic chaos, the Police imposed 285 fines in one week

Tirana Traffic Police has imposed 285 administrative measures and prosecuted 34 drivers this week for violating the Traffic Code.

99 drivers were fined for not respecting traffic rules, 67 for speeding and 43 for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Meanwhile, 76 drivers had their vehicles confiscated after they parked incorrectly or obstructed traffic.

24/7 presence, on all axes of the capital, conditioned by rainfall, as well as to fulfill the objectives: accident prevention and traffic management.

During this week, 285 measures were taken against traffic violators who endangered the lives of road users, caused traffic chaos and/or obstructed movement.

Also, 34 citizens have been criminally prosecuted for violations provided for in the Criminal Code.

Specifically, they were punished with measures:

-99 drivers, for disregarding traffic order;

-76 citizens had their vehicles seized by towing vehicle after they had parked incorrectly or obstructed traffic;

-67 citizens, for speeding above the speed limit;

-43 citizens, for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Monitoring continues, with increased presence and modern technological equipment.

The Traffic Police once again appeals to drivers and all road users to respect traffic rules, as only in this way can they contribute to the common mission of guaranteeing road safety.
