The next session of the trial on the merits against Erion Veliaj is being held today at the GJKKO, at 10:00, where the mayor is expected to fail to appear again after refusing the glass cage. His lawyer, Plarent Ndreca, did not appear in the previous session either.

The hearing was the third consecutive time that the GJKKO suspended Veliaj's pre-trial detention. The Court also rejected his request for a live broadcast of the hearing and his release from the cage. 

According to prosecutor Ols Dado, being in a cage does not constitute humiliating treatment, but is a guarantee for the development of the process.

Regarding live broadcasting, the court says it has stated this earlier and cameras will only be allowed at the start of the sessions, during the technical part.
