The mother of Arbër Lleshi, one of the 19 people arrested after the violent protest at the Parliament, said that her son still has marks on his body from the blows he received from the officers while being escorted to the police station.
She addressed Prime Minister Edi Rama, saying that with the arrest of the children they have become stronger and that they will not leave the boulevard until he resigns.
"Hello, resisters. I am the mother of Arbër Lleshi, who was arrested on July 2. The marks of the punches on the police van are still there, even now that it is the 6th! When I saw the video of my son being raped, I became stronger and said: If I came one day yes and one day no because I am sick, from today onwards I will be here in the square every day and here we are!"
In her speech, she described the head of government as a figure who no longer deserves the title of prime minister, accusing him of mismanagement and violence against the younger generation.
"I'm saying this to Edi Rama: Do you think you're going to scare us by arresting our children? On the contrary! We've become even stronger and we'll be here in the square! Not 37 days, but 37 weeks and 37 months if you wanted! Until the stinking political class that massacred this people goes to the trash can. History has never seen such a prime minister in any country in the world! Chief thief, you don't deserve the word prime minister anymore! You can't lie to this people anymore," she said.
The mother of the injured activist stressed that the battle is now irreversible.
"This youth has seen democracy and we can no longer score against this wonderful youth! We are here, with our children and together with our parents," she concluded.
