The Constitutional Court has concluded a 7-hour hearing with the requesting parties, the Union and Association of Judges, regarding the request for an increase in their salary.

Top Channel journalist Anila Hoxha reports that the Constitutional Court has withdrawn its decision, which is expected to be announced within a few days.

All parties were heard in this session, the Union and Association of Judges, the Council of Ministers, and the Parliament.

Prime Minister Edi Rama has also reacted to this session on salary increases. The head of government says that this is an ugly farce. He adds that judges are the highest paid category in Albania, breaking the state salary pyramid in the country.

The Prime Minister accused the judges' associations of wanting to usurp the constitutional powers of the government and parliament over salary policy. He says this is a logical, moral, legal and constitutional scandal, and hopes that the Constitutional Court will not accept the black platoons' request for a salary increase.

"Now they want to be given the right to increase their own salaries in perpetuity whenever other salaries increase, so that Albania will forever be the only country in the world where judges are paid more than anyone else, taking away the constitutional powers of the government and parliament for salary policy - this is a logical, moral, legal and constitutional scandal, which I hope the Constitutional Court will never allow to turn into a national shame," the government's number one wrote.

Prime Minister Rama stated that he has respect for SPAK, which did not join this nonsense, in the name of judicial independence.
