A 42-year-old man was arrested by the Durres police after taking money from citizens who parked their cars in areas designated as free parking by the city hall.

This is not the first time that unauthorized persons claim to be owners of free parking lots, and take from 200 to 500 Lek from uninformed drivers.

Police notification:

The 42-year-old was arrested for taking money from citizens who parked their vehicles in a public space designated by the municipality as a free parking lot.

As a result of the continuous checks that the specialists for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes of DVP Durrës carry out in various economic entities, another case of illegal profiting of payments for parking vehicles in public spaces has been hit.

For this case, citizen A. Ç., 42 years old, a resident of Durrës, was put in handcuffs, after taking money from citizens, to park vehicles in a space that was designated by the municipality of Durrës, as a free parking lot.

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Durrës, for further actions.
