New details have come to light from Operation " Reservation" .
Yesterday, Tirana police arrested 64-year-old Ardi Gjuzi because the tourist agency he managed had defrauded citizens, who were charged amounts of money for booking travel tickets and accommodation, but did not make the reservations.
The travel agency involved in this fraud scheme is "SunnyTravel".
The 64-year-old only made travel payments and did not make hotel reservation payments, deceiving citizens.
In one case, a family traveling to France realized that the hotel had not been reserved even though they had made the payment at the travel agency.
There were about 20 citizens who fell prey to this fraud scheme and were left on the streets without a reserved and paid hotel.
So far, the police have announced that the owner of the agency has fraudulently obtained around 17 thousand euros from citizens.
Even after the case was made public by the police, other citizens have gone to file complaints against " SunnyTravel" .
When questioned by the investigative group, the owner of the agency, Ardi Gjuzi, testified that he defrauded clients because he was in financial crisis and on the verge of bankruptcy.
