Drunk driver crashes into parked cars, AMP arrests "Eagles" police

The Police Supervision Agency for the Kavajë-Durres region announced this Tuesday the arrest in flagrante delicto of the police officer, Inspector AB, who serves as a Service Trooper in the "Eagle" Special Force at the Durres Local Police Directorate.

He is suspected of committing the criminal offenses of "Irregular driving" and "Disobedience to the order of a public order police officer."

"Today, at around 05:40, Inspector AB, while driving an "Audi" type vehicle on the "Egnatia" road, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into several parked vehicles, causing material damage," the AMP statement said.

In accordance with the prescribed procedures, he was asked to take a breathalyzer test, but he refused.

Under these conditions, a blood sample was taken for analysis at the Durrës Regional Hospital.

The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Durrës for further action.
