A specialized seaplane and several firefighting helicopters are currently operating over areas affected by fires in the Finiq Municipality, supporting ground units in efforts to extinguish the flames.
Aerial vehicles continuously drop water on active hotspots, with priority given to protecting residential areas and forest areas.
The fires are concentrated mainly from the village of Krongj to Dhrovjan, where firefighters, police and civil emergency structures are working in coordination to isolate them. Another fire appeared this morning near the village of Krane.
In the city of Saranda, although far from the fires, clouds of ash and a thick layer of smoke are observed, which has affected the air quality. The Muzinë-Jergucat national road is blocked to traffic, due to the proximity of the flames in the segment near the village of Dhrovjan and near the former salt mine.
Authorities are monitoring the "Blue Eye" Natural Park as a priority, taking preventive measures to avoid the spread of fire in this protected area.
