The pedagogues' deadline set by the Government, which was 16:00, for meeting their demands, the most important of which is the salary increase, has ended.

The head of the Teachers' Union, Aleksandër Kovaçi, has stated that 30 teachers are ready to go on hunger strike if the Presidency guarantees their lives and are waiting for an answer.

"In the impossibility of receiving an answer from the government, the Union addresses the president and law enforcement institutions to guarantee the lives of the teachers who will go on hunger strike and their families. We are here for the protection of education and human value. We strongly believe that it is an issue that belongs to everyone. There will be 30 lecturers who will join this hunger strike," said Kovaçi.
