62-year-old arrested with automatic weapon in Tirana

A 62-year-old man has been arrested by the capital's police after being caught with an automatic rifle with the intention of selling it.

Police announce that Ramiz Bami was caught red-handed on "Mine Peza" street, driving a "Benz" type vehicle, in which he was carrying an automatic rifle.

"The services of the Police Commissariat No. 3, following investigations and controls, with the objective of cracking down on cases of illegal possession of weapons, finalized the "Blic" operation, during which they arrested citizen RB, 62 years old, resident of Tirana. He was caught red-handed, on "Mine Peza" street, driving a "Benz" type vehicle, in which he was carrying, suspected of intending to sell, 1 automatic firearm with ammunition."

The police seized the firearm, comb, cartridges and the 62-year-old's vehicle as material evidence. Investigations are ongoing to identify and bring to justice all citizens involved in this case.

The procedural materials were referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for further action.
