On this first day of school, Nikita and her sister Fjonisa were not accompanied by their loving father, nor with smiles like all the other children.

Holding hands with their mother Kristina, who carried the 9-month-old baby with her while holding back tears, the two girls joined the other children at the " Jakov Xoxa " artistic high school to begin their journey of knowledge.

A painful story that gave a gray color to a special day like today.

Meanwhile, we learn that around 13 thousand students returned to school throughout the territory of the Fier district, around 900 children sat on the benches for the first time.

However, statistics show a decrease in the number of students in Patos, with 110 fewer students compared to last year.  

There is also a decline in Roskovec, with 50 fewer students than last year.

The 9-year school "Jorgo Sopiku" in Luar has been transformed into a subordinate school this year. The situation is even more problematic in Mallakastër, where only 64 students are enrolled in the first grade, down from 93 a year ago.
