By order of SPAK, the "strongman" of Shkodra, Safet Bajri, was arrested today. SPAK says he was arrested in connection with the murder of Fatbardh Lici, an event that occurred in August 2018.
Along with Safet Bajri, Behar Bajri and Astmer Bilal, who are currently in prison for several other cases, have also been sentenced to prison in connection with this incident.
Prosecutors say that the investigation has shown that the three of them planned and organized the assassination attempt on Lici. The latter was killed in revenge because he is a relative of Ibrahim Lici. According to SPAK, Behar Bajri attributes the murder of Boran Bërçana to Ibrahim Lici and for this reason he killed his uncle.
How Safet Bajri was trapped by SPAK and the police
When the BKH agents invited Safet Bajri to appear and give explanations, as well as to submit DNA, he decided to respond positively. Apparently, Safet Bajri was convinced that there was no arrest warrant against him.
"I can't come to Tirana. I don't have an armored car ," he told the police.
“Okay,” they said, “we’re coming to Shkodra.”
And Safet Bajri was convinced. He probably didn't even have to consult his lawyers. The latter were convinced that Safet Bajri would not be arrested. And in the first statements to the media they said that he had not been arrested, but simply an escort to submit DNA.
Today, together with lawyer Sokol Tahiraj, Safet Bajraj went to the Shkodra Police Department. The lawyer called the police and informed them that they were at the department. “Ready, we arrived,” the police replied. And they were not late.
RENEA surrounded him and immediately handcuffed him. The forces were armed to the teeth. "There is an arrest warrant," Safet Bajri was told. And under strict security measures he was brought to Tirana. There he was charged with the murder of Fatbardh Lici in August 2018.

Safet Bajri appeared smiling as he was escorted by RENEA forces to the Tirana Police Department, perhaps out of embarrassment at the trap he had fallen into.
