On June 8, 2022, an assassination attempt with firearms took place near the village of Nikel against Marklen Haka , who had previously been the victim of similar attacks with weapons, where he was seriously injured.

The show "Në Shënještër" revealed new details about this serious event, while also telling about the role of the two friends who took him out to coffee, before he was a victim of the assassination.

Marklen Haka had not left his luxury villa in the village of Nikël in Fushë-Kruje for a long time, since the last assassination in September 2019.

There, he was seriously injured on the threshold of his apartment and his aunt, Shpresa Basha, later died in the hospital.

After the assassination, he had made himself invisible to his targeters, who had expressed the clear intention of eliminating him.

He even decided to leave Albania and move to Belgium. However, even there he had preferred to stay in his fortress in the village of Nikël.

However, a phone call from his former sister-in-law led him back to the ambush of his shooters, who were aware of his every move and had taken every measure to eliminate him.

They were prepared and had information on the ground, so when Marklen Haka chose to leave his villa, it ended with the assassination taking place at noon on June 8, 2022 when a friendly phone call over coffee from his brother's ex-wife the deceased, who was accompanied by a friend of hers, took him out on the street once again, where his enemies were waiting for him again in an ambush on his way back.

On June 8, 2022, around 2:30 p.m., a notification was received from the operating room that at the place called the intersection of the village of Nikël of the Administrative Unit, Nikël-Kruje, a shot was fired at the citizen Marklen Lutfi Haka, who went to the hospital Trauma in Tirana for treatment.

During the examination of the scene, the investigative group proved that in the road segment, 35 meters on the eastern side of the intersection of Nikël village, on the asphalt, 17 cylindrical shells were found scattered irregularly, 12 of which are printed with caps stamped with the inscription on their end 14 GFL, a metal shell deformed and a shell jacket.

Marklen Haka gave him peace this time as well, as in other gun attacks where the target of his enemies had been himself and members of the Haka family.

He received a bullet in the jaw, while witnesses to the battery on his car were also present or not at the scene.

They watched in horror as bullets rained down on them too, seriously endangering their lives. Some of the shots ended up in the bar next to the scene of the assassination.

He did not have the opportunity to go out and immediately see what was happening on the street. A piercing hole left in the bar's glass spoke of the terror he and others present in the cafe at the time experienced from the bullets coming from across the street.

During the examination of the scene, in the bar owned by the citizen Përparim Caca, a piercing hole was found in the window glass of the cafe.

Likewise, from the examination of the vehicle model 'Golf 5', with license plate AB 728 CB, 5 seats, black in color, which is owned by citizen Kurt Hidri and since June 8, 2022, has been in the use of Marklen Haka , piercing holes were found, running from left to right, which correspond to the windshield of the first passenger of the vehicle in question.

Marklen Haka, the man who was also at the center of the latest gun attack against him, was the first to be questioned about the incident. After receiving first aid at the Trauma Hospital in Tirana, after the injury to his jaw, as well as in other similar assassinations against him, he did not provide any information of interest to his opponents, who were behind him to settle accounts with him.

Although he did not give recognition to his potential enemies, Marklen Haka did not deny the suspicions he had when his car was chased by another vehicle, starting after he had a coffee with his two girlfriends, a bar not too far away from his villa in Nikël village. He said that he left the apartment at around 12.00 noon, after an invitation for coffee by an acquaintance of his, whom he identifies as Alketa. Who told her that she was accompanied by a friend of hers, named Rita.

Marklen Haka: On June 8, 2022, I was staying in my apartment when I got a call from a friend of mine, Alketa, around 12:00. She told me that I am with Rita and they were inviting me for coffee. We let him meet at 'Klajdi Park' in Tapizë. I went there with my black 'Golf 5' car. When I went there, I saw that Alketa and Rita had arrived before me and were waiting for me. I stayed with them in the bar for about an hour. After we finished the coffee, I said goodbye to Alketa and Ritëm and went to pay the bill.

After parting with the girls, Marklen Haka told the investigators that he took the road back to his apartment in the village of Nikël. However, upon leaving the bar, he noticed through the mirrors of the car an unusual movement of a vehicle coming behind him. This vehicle followed him all the time, without leaving him for a single moment. This situation made him suspect that the vehicle behind him and the people on board were not ordinary road users.

Marklen Haka: After paying the bill, I left and went to my car. While Alketa and Rita were standing in their car in the courtyard of the bar and both were talking on the phone. During this time, I got into my car and headed towards Fushë Kruja, while the girls headed towards Tirana in an A Class vehicle. But as soon as I started, I had my doubts, as my vehicle was followed by another car, an Audi A8.

Marklen Haka's suspicions at that moment did not turn out to be just that. The maneuvers he performed on the road convinced him that the vehicle with black windows that was following him from behind was right there for him. He could make out nothing from the inside of the vehicle except for black windows and a foreign license plate on its front. Meanwhile, the only escape for him was to give as much gas as he could to his car, which was several cubic horsepower less powerful than the Audi he was chasing.

Marklen Haka: I hadn't even walked 200 meters from the bar when I noticed an Audi A8 type vehicle, produced in 2008-2010, black in color, with completely black windows, with white foreign license plates, with small letters, that impressed me a lot. At this moment I gave the gas to the car and overtook the Audi. But there I noticed that this car was still following me and was standing next to me at a distance of about 100 meters.

But when he thought he escaped the next trap, Marklen Haka didn't count on his followers to pounce on him just as he was about to breathe freely and throw it at his targets without getting wet. He told the investigators that as soon as he entered Nikël, a gun barrel came out of the lowered black window of the car that had followed him all along the road, and fired in the direction of his vehicle, which at that moment was stopped on the side of the road. .

Marklen Haka: When I arrived at the place called Nikla station, I took the turn to the village. There I saw my uncle's son who should Tani Haka. He was standing on the street in front of the bar and motioned for me to pick him up. I stopped the car and Tani approached me to get into the vehicle. At this moment, an Audi A8 approached my car, rolled down the window and fired a gun from there. I lay back on the seat as the shooting continued. While a bullet caught me in the jaw.

Even in that state, Marklen Haka said he still had the strength to give the car and leave the place where the volley of bullets poured into him. He said that he headed towards Fushë Kruja to ask for help from his friends in this city, who then sent him to the Trauma Hospital in the capital, after the wound he received in his jaw. The Trauma Hospital, which for him had turned into an ordinary treatment station, every time he fell prey to assassinations, as well as in these images from September 2019, where even at that time he was seriously injured after an ambush that was organized in his hours late in the evening at the door of his villa in Nikël village in Fushë-Kruje.

Marklen Haka: After what happened to me, I put the car in indietro and left towards Fushë Kruja. I stopped there for a moment and started again and went to kick 'Çangu'. Where Adi Haka arrived who then sent me to the hospital.

From his hospital bed, Marklen Haka said that he did not know his assassins and that he had no doubts about any particular name that could be linked to the motives of his execution. He confessed to the investigators that he had returned to Albania on June 5, 2023, just three days before he was the victim of the gun attack, information that seems to have been provided by his opponents.

During this time, he had stayed in Brussels, but did not give any explanation as to the reason for his stay in the Belgian capital, where he was a resident for only two weeks. Regarding the assassination attempt on him, people who were thought to have knowledge of the circumstances of the event were also questioned by the investigative group. One of these questioned persons was Geraldo Haka, the cousin of Marklen Haka, who was the first to know about the assassination of his relative and accompanied him to Fushë Krujë, as well as further to the hospital of Trauma in the capital.

Geraldo Haka: I was in my bar near the 9-year-old Nikël school, when my cousin Marklen Haka called me loudly; 'Take your car and follow me, since I've been shot'. As soon as I saw him, I followed Marklen until he parked the car at Calceto.

There he then climbed into my car and we left for the hospital. On the way, Markleni told me that he doesn't know who shot me. We didn't talk for long, as he was bleeding from the mouth, having been shot in the jaw.

After receiving the testimony of the target's cousin, the investigative team returned to the scene once again to obtain new statements that could help clarify the crime scene. One of these people was Përparim Caca, the owner of the bar in front of where the incident took place. Terrified, he said, he was more interested in hiding his head than seeing what was happening outside or who the perpetrators were.

Progress Caca: The moment I heard gunshots, I felt scared and went under the counter and did not see what happened. I then noticed a bullet that had gone through the window glass of the bar. At the time of the incident, there were no customers inside the bar. While a boy and a girl were sitting on the porch, they fell to the ground as soon as they heard the shots.

The only one who could highlight something about the identity of the perpetrators of the crime was Dritan Haka, cousin of Marklen Haka. The person who miraculously escaped the bullets while getting ready to climb into his relative's car. During the moment when Marklen Haka had stopped at the intersection of Nikël village, after the sign that his cousin had made with his hand to take him with him in his car. Although at first Dritan Haka gave interesting details about the visual characteristics of the perpetrator who shot his cousin, later in his testimony before the investigators, he told the latter that he did not remember well the portrait of the one who fired the gun .

Dritan Haka: On June 8, 2022, around 2:00 p.m., I was standing at the intersection of the Nikël station, with the intention of finding a random car to go to the village. During this time, Marklen Haka, who is also my uncle's son, stopped in front of my feet with his car. At this very moment, parallel to Marklen's car, I saw that another black Audi type vehicle approached, where a shot was fired from the passenger seat in the direction of the car, where my cousin was. I managed to spot the person who shot. He had no mask on his face. He was brown and I think he must be somewhere around 40 years old.

Dritan Haka then remembered that the perpetrators, probably scared, pointed the gun at him as well, but did not shoot any further. He could only watch as they took the road they had come from and left quietly in the direction of the Kamez-Fushë Krujë road to lose their tracks even today.

Dritan Haka: I only managed to highlight the fact that the authors' tool was reversed. And at that moment they also pointed the gun at me. From what I saw, after the assassination they took the national road Kamëz-Fushë Kruje.

Despite his first statement that he managed to look one of the assassins in the eye, in his second testimony to investigators, Dritan Haka appeared vague about the portrait of the shooter who for a moment almost took his own life. .

Investigative File: Despite Dritan Haka saying he saw the person who shot his cousin, Marklen Haka, directly in the eye in the second testimony, he retracted this statement, saying he was unable to identify him again this person. He also says that he has not determined with what weapon he was shot, but that it was a long gun and not a pistol. And the shootings were in bursts and not isolated.

Nothing important in her testimony was given by one of the clients of the bar, in front of whom the entire crime scene was played out, who faced the scary moments that day together with an acquaintance of hers. But luckily for her, the bullets spared her, while she had to return home in shock.

JM:  On June 8, 2022, at 7:00 a.m., I left my house located in the village of Mukje and went to work in a furniture store in the village of Shelqet. Around 13:00 after finishing work, I went to the Nikla intersection and sat on the veranda of the Pap Caca pub to drink coffee with an acquaintance of mine. A little later I heard gunshots and we both sat down under the table. After the incident, I left in the direction of the house in the village of Mukje. I don't know Marklen Haka and I haven't seen the event as it happened and neither have the perpetrators.

Up to this point in the investigation, no one knew the perpetrators of the assassination, even though they had been able to see their portraits inside the car with which they attempted to eliminate Marklen Haka. This suggests that the shooters most likely did not belong to the surrounding area. In relation to the event, the investigative group also stopped at the car used by Marklen Haka on the day of the event, when it fell prey to bullets. From this, it was established that the vehicle used by the target of the assassination was owned by a citizen, probably his close family member.

Investigative File: In the capacity of a person who has knowledge of the circumstances of the investigation, citizen Kurt Hidri was questioned. He stated that the vehicle used by Marklen Haka with license plate AB 728 CB belongs to the citizen Agustin Haka, to whom he sold it a year ago and he can prove this through the notarial deed he made at the notary.

But in his testimony, Kurt Hidri said that he did not know Marklen Haka. While the only person he knew was Agustin Haka, to whom he also sold the car. However, the most interesting testimony for the investigative team was undoubtedly the girls with whom Marklen Haka had the last coffee before falling prey to the bullets, especially one of them, identified as Alketa.

She had called Marklein to come out of the apartment where she was in full swing and have coffee with him. The police managed to identify Marklen Haka's company with the two girls through video footage, as well as from businesses in the area, to see the pursuit that the killers' car made.

Alketa: I have known Markle Haka for many years, as I lived together with his late brother, Roland Haka. That day around 12.30 I met Marklen together with a friend of mine in a bar near Tapiza. After drinking coffee we left in two different directions. He towards home, we towards Tirana. I learned about the event through the news. But this testimony seems truncated in her statements. Not only does Alketa not tell about the purpose of the meeting, but the testimony of her companion at the table that day is also missing.
